Jordan’s Echoes of Hope – A run4change humanitarian initiative
Jordan’s Echoes of Hope is a humanitarian project initiated and promoted by the Rotary Club Zurich International (District 2000, Switzerland) through the run4change event with the aim of restoring hearing and hope of underprivileged children in Jordan.
This initiative reflects Rotary’s commitment to sustainable humanitarian impact through international cooperation, community engagement, and targeted fundraising.
The project is implemented on the ground in partnership with the Rotary Club of Amman Cosmopolitan (District 2452, Jordan) and local medical professionals, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and long-term impact.
Our Goal
Through run4change, Rotary Club Zurich International mobilizes awareness, sponsorships, and donations to support children suffering from hearing loss — many of whom have never experienced sound in their lives.
For these children, hearing is not just a medical need; it is a gateway to:
- Education
- Communication
- Social inclusion
- A dignified future
This initiative transforms collective effort into real, measurable change.
Real impact on the ground
Many of the children supported through Jordan’s Echoes of Hope were born with or developed severe hearing loss and have no access to treatment.
For some, the moment they receive hearing aids is the first time they ever hear a voice.
The emotional impact is overwhelming — tears, disbelief, joy, and gratitude.
Seeing children hear for the first time, recognizing their parents’ voices, and beginning to interact with the world is a powerful reminder of why this project exists.
Our Partner
The success of this initiative is made possible through:
- Rotary Club of Zurich International, leading the initiative and fundraising efforts through run4change
- Rotary Club of Amman Cosmopolitan, managing the local implementation and coordination
- A local Jordanian hearing aid center, which generously provides a 50% discount on hearing devices
- Strong cooperation with medical professionals and volunteers
- Media coverage that helps raise awareness and support for the cause
This collaboration ensures that donations are used efficiently and reach the children who need them most.
Project milestones
Phase I – November 2024
Objective: Hearing restoration for children in need
Beneficiaries: 16 children
Budget: USD 12,500
(Hearing aids, medical fitting, and implementation)
Phase II – September 2025
Objective: Expansion of the program to reach more children
Beneficiaries: 22 additional children
Budget: USD 17,350
(Devices, fittings, follow-up, and awareness activities)

- Two high-quality hearing aids
- Medical fitting and follow-up
- A chance to hear, learn, and attend school
